A surprised meeting

I was surprised about the letter. No one think I am a good forward, why Arsenal?

According to the letter, I wrote the response:

Mr. Rochester:

Hello! I am very glad to read your letter with the notion of Arsenal Football CLub.

I pay a lot of attention to your letter. I'd like to have a appointment with you in London or Newcastle, both are OK.

My telephone number is 53428097, welcome you to call me.

                                              Charles Peter.

When I finished writing the letter, I descented in perfect illusion. Arsenal, a club which many players dream to join!

After two days, my phonecall rang.

"Hello! This is Charles Peter."

"Hello! This is David Jones."

"Sorry, sir. I don't recognize you!"

"But I recognize you! I am the manager of the Transferzone of Arsenal."

"Oh, what's for telling me?"

"Mr. Peter, I think you don't disagree that we can meet at 81st, Henry Beck Road in London?"

"Well, Ok!"

"Emm, we could meet at 11:00 on the 7th?"

"Yes, I am free then!"

"Don't you go for training?"

"Oh, you know, I am a suckful player in Newcastle now. Mr. Loothe think it is not necessary for me to train!"

"Ok, see you."

"See ya."

When I took back the phone, I am very exciting! I can join a Junior team like Arsenal, the last champion of the Junior Premier League! I think I couldn't feel asleep at that time, I was so chaos in my brain!

On the 6th, I got up very early. I don't remembered how I went to the Newcastle Train Station, by texi or by my own car.

The way to the station was covered by the snow. But for me, It is wonderful for my occupation life. When I reached the station, a securityguard called me:" Sir, why do you come here so early?"

"For the train, Ok?"

"The train? Man, don't you mistake the timetable of trains?"

"No, the station advisory counter was called by me for asking the timetable. I'll take the train to London Waterloo Station which will be run at 5:00am."

"Oh, sir. I am sorry to tell you that that train's runnning will be at 5:00pm!"

"Really?"

......

I was silly at that time because of Arsenal's invitation I think. I stayed at a bar near the station. Then there was a very important thing for my life happened. I'll tell you here:

When I got into the bar, I put my bag with Arsenal's letter and invitation in it behind my chair. Then I went for coffee and wine, of course some beef. When I came back, I found it losing. I was very vexed and sad. I ran to the counter to call the sever to help me, but their was no people at the counter.

Then, a comely and beautiful girl said to me suddenly:

"Monsieur, as-tu besoin de mon aide ?"

I am surprised that this girl used "tu" to ask me. I've learnt French for several years and answered:

"Oui, J'ai besoin!"

Then I told her what happened.

I think she was clever and the lost bag was obvious for her. She found it not very arduously for me. I said "Merci".

To my surprise, she wanted my phone number and my address in Newcastle. I told her I'll moved to London, I told her the number of my mobile phone! To face such a virtuous and cute girl, anything else I could do? Then we introduced our self. I knew she's a French girl with bad English in Newcastle, she's 18 years old and a month younger than me.

When we took adieu, I said "Au revoir" to her with a smile with fascination. In fact, I am a handsome boy and I've received many billet-doux in my middle life. I think this made me amazed her and I am amazed of her cleverness and virtue, not her beautiful colour.

I spent the surplus time in the bar after the girl left. It was easy for me to think about my future occupation in Arsenal even Arsenal hadn't decided to make a compact with me.

After these interesting things, I had a good lunch and at 5:00pm, I got on the train.

I didn't know my way in London favoring or troublesome.

A difficult choice

When I walked into the gate of the headquarter, Xabi and Schanatt were there too. They were talking with the coach. I heard their communication.

"Mr Loothe, Do you think Mr. Peter is appropriate to kick at the leading place?"Asked Schanatt.

"Oh, my dear, this cunt isn't good enough to be a leading player."

"Coach, I think Schanatt is feat to play as it, right? He has the good speed and splendid technique. The X-S combination can frighten any other team, even Arsenal!".

"Ah, good! You and Schanatt will be marked in the match to Chelsea the day after tomorrow!".

"Thank you, Mr. Loothe."

Maybe the coach was attentive to me, he took a ugly face, and paid attention to me.

"Cunt, come here!"

"I seriously apprise you that you can't use such impolite words to me!"

"To you? I didn't recognize a cunt player like you!"

"Ok, I introduce myself. I am a football player in Newcastle Junior Team."

"Do you have the qualification for being a member in our team? Have you got the passport?"

"What for passport?"

"Goals!!!!!!!!!"

"Mr Loothe, I wonder whether you want me or not?"

"Ok, I apprise you officially with representing the club's notion, this season will be the last season for you to play in our team as a leading player. If you don't want to leave, please sit in the chair when we are matched."

Then, the coach left angrily.

I didn't know what to do at that time. Leaving or being a side player?

Then, I didn't know this choice will be the first important choice in my occupation life. Maybe I could leave the preimership, went to the lower league. But then my sallary will be even lower(That time my sallary was only 750000 pounds per year.). I can't decided.

The next day, I didn't went for training. Many year later, I knew that Mr Loothe abandoned me and didn't plan me to train. That time, I didn't know my action was true or false.

The matchday came. I turned on the TV to watch the match between our team and Chelsea. To my angry and surprise, Xabi and Schanatt scored each goal to help my team to reverse the goal. We won with 2-1.

I still remembered the explaination said by the most famous explainer-Jack Swether for that match.

"Let's see this chance. Ramón, he runs very fast. Solved Jones, then Kassiny. Oh, he passed Cavalho, the best defender in Potugal. The last kick. Goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Mourinho is very angry. His exciting player were passed by a 19-year Spanish Flying Man. Newcastle chased Chelsea on the socre!"

"Becha to Shanatt. Shanatt and Steven took an cooperation to pass Lampard. Schanatt kicked! Oh, what a sensitive goal!! 40 metres away from the goal. Cech is unuseful for obstractting from the ball pflying into the net! Newcastle is ahead! This is a magical team! Newcastle has the best teenager team that can truimph a major first team so strong like Chelsea!".

I couldn't said whether I am happy or said. My happiness is our team won a strong mighty team like Chelsea. My sadness is this match decided that my leading forwarder life in Newcastle Junior Team is ended.

I must choose a choice. Leaving from Newcastle or sitting on the chair!

When I was thinking heavily, the bell rang. The visitor was a postman with my acquaintance whom was called Richard Betty.

"Hello, my friends. Here is a letter to you. The sender is from London."

"From London? I haven't got a friend lives in London? Don't you take a mistake?"

"Impossible, Sir. It was typed by the computer."

"Ok, hand it to me!"

"Bye, Sir."

"Bye!"

When I opened the envelop, I got a surprise.

The name of the sender is "Arsenal Football Club".

但国际通用的语言却只有英语和法语
以说法语为荣的时代
英语和法语不但26个字母相同，就连许多词汇的写法也差别不大，这是因为它们都属于印欧语系，而且法国曾经占领过英国的缘故。

1066年1月，英国国王“忏悔者”爱德华去世，哈罗德二世即位。当时统治诺曼底地区的公爵“征服者”纪尧姆见有机可乘，就借口爱德华曾答应让他继承王位，率领诺曼底的贵族和来自法国的骑士，渡海到不列颠南部登陆，哈罗德二世带领卫队和民军仓促迎战，中箭身亡。纪尧姆乘势占领伦敦，成为英国国王，而且把英国贵族赶出宫廷，用法国贵族取而代之，古法语的词汇因此得以大量进入了英语，所以英语的词汇主要是由源自法语的词构成的。

　法国在17世纪达到了鼎盛时期，成为西欧典型的封建君主制国家。国王路易十四集政治、军事和财政大权于一身，建立了空前强大的绝对王权，被称为“太阳王”。为王权服务的古典主义文化繁荣发达，出现了一整套等级分明的规则和礼仪。当时从宫廷装饰、言谈举止到文学艺术，法国的一切都成了欧洲各国宫廷模仿的榜样，从而使古典主义的影响在欧洲持续了一两百年之久。

　这方面最突出的是法语的影响。中世纪的学者只使用拉丁语写作，因此古法语相对贫乏。到文艺复兴时期，法国出现了名为“七星诗社”的诗歌流派，为了使法语丰富起来，诗人们大量吸收古代希腊拉丁的词汇、各种行话术语以及民间的俚语，结果矫枉过正，使法语变得十分庞杂。古典主义讲究统一和规范，首相黎世留为此在1635年成立了法兰西学士院，规定院士人数永远保持40位，让他们享有极高的荣誉，而给他们的任务就是编一部字典来纯洁法语。这本字典从1639年开始编撰，经过两代人的努力，直到1694年才得以出版。

　院士们统一了各种方言，制定了语法规则，完成了纯洁法语的任务，使得法语成为一种最规范、最明晰、最准确的语言。从17世纪末开始，法语就取代拉丁语成为国际上的外交语言。当时欧洲上流社会都以会说法语为荣。在俄国，年满18岁的贵族不会讲法语就不能结婚。当时的著名作家，甚至女皇叶卡捷琳娜二世都能用法语写作。屠格涅夫等俄国作家的小说，其中会不时夹杂着一些法语，就是受到法语影响的痕迹。因此可以说从17到19世纪，法语虽然没有像今天的英语这样具有世界范围的巨大影响，但是在欧洲已经形成了法语的语境。
法语是怎么衰落的？
从18世纪开始，法国出现了一系列重大的社会变革，例如启蒙运动、法国大革命、拿破仑称霸欧洲、巴黎公社等等，这些人所共知的历史事件，使法国成为令世人瞩目的中心，影响着欧洲乃至整个世界。

同时法国经过一系列对外扩张，在19世纪末占有了大量的殖民地，例如亚洲的越南和柬埔寨，美洲的海地，特别是从北非的阿尔及利亚、摩洛哥、突尼斯到西非的刚果、多哥等许多国家。这些殖民地在独立之后，有许多国家仍然将法语作为官方语言。

不过自从路易十四去世之后，法国总的来说是在走下坡路，例如加拿大的魁北克原来属于法国，在1762年交给了英国；美国路易斯安那州这个名称来自法国国王路易十四，法国在1803年把它卖给了美国。拿破仑的称霸遭到了欧洲各国的反对，最终在滑铁卢被反法同盟军击败，由此造成的后果之一就是法语的衰落。

　　与此相应的是，英国这个老牌的殖民帝国已经把英语推广到整个世界，后来随着美国的日益强大，英语的影响自然也越来越大。1918年第一次世界大战结束，在签订凡尔赛和约时，美国总统威尔逊和英国首相劳合·乔治都不懂法语，他们坚持要用英语，从此英语开始用于外交文本，与法语具有同等效力。1948年的马歇尔计划把美国文化带进了欧洲，后来随着美国国力的增长和经济的全球化，特别是当代国际互联网的发展，英语在语言和文化方面的霸权不断加强，不懂英语的人简直寸步难行，也使法国作为文学和文化中心的地位发生了动摇。
英语不能一统天下！
迄今为止，法语仍然被作为国际通用语言，例如在奥运会等重要国际场合，通常都是先讲一遍法语，接着讲一遍英语，而法语文本在重要的国际谈判中也必不可少。但尽管如此，世界上学英语的人越来越多，法语的使用率在不断下降，就连在法国举行的国际会议，使用英语的次数也比法语多。

英语的词汇甚至反过来侵入了法语，这对于一向以法语为自豪的法国人来说无疑是沉重的打击。法国政府当然很不甘心，因此每年都拨出大量经费，不遗余力地在世界各地推广法语，力图保持“大语种”的地位。

　法兰西民族追求新奇的天性，使巴黎在20世纪仍然是各种新的文艺思潮和流派的一个重要的发源地；而法国悠久的人道主义传统，则使巴黎始终是流亡作家们向往的圣地。法国一向对外来文化具有兼收并蓄的能力，法兰西民族创造出来的灿烂文化，它贡献给世界的经典作家和艺术家以及他们的作品，在世人心目中已经具有不可替代的地位。

因此正如17世纪影响极大的法语并未使英语消失一样，今天英语的影响无论多么巨大，同样也不可能取代法语和其他的语言。在世界性的文化与民族文化之间，除了对抗性的一面之外，也有互补的和相互启示的一面。例如欧洲文化在19世纪末侵入拉丁美洲，拉丁美洲的文化并未因此而消亡，反而兼收并蓄地发展成了一个相对独立的完整体系，最终以魔幻现实主义震动了整个世界。

因此全球化语境的前景不是由英语一统天下，而是在英语不断扩大影响的同时，各种具有民族特色的文化也会得到发展，进而造成两者互相影响和交融的局面，来共同促进世界文学和文化的繁荣。

A depressed man.

My name is Charles Peter. I was born in Newcastle in 1990. My birthday is 23rd of May.

Since I was a child, I loved playing football at all. I usually played football in the stadium of our village after school. So, in 2008, when I was 18, I had been a player of the Newcastle Junior Team, as a Forwarder.

"Hi, Charles, Did you scored a goal yesterday?" Asked by my teammate, Xabi Ramón, a spanish 19-year old player.

"No, my gods." I said.

"Oh, our rival is Wottford, the weakest team in the league, you didn't goal in so suckful match!"

"Yeah. Maybe I don't have the right ability. I haven't socred for nearly 4 month."

"I think you can't score until you end your occupation!"Said Xabi contemptuously.

"Oh, you rubbish guy! You can't have the leading forwarder place! Give it back to me!" Our communication was heard by another teamates, called Germany Flying Man-Schanatt.

I wasn't attentive to these two men who did't have virtue. Then I went home.

My home was at the 88th, Palasy Road. It was a small villa. As I am major, I didn't live with my parents. Their house was 5 kilometres away-the 10th, Habey Road.

In the living-room, you could see a depressed man whose face was blanch, with a little disappointment. Yes, that was me. I can't realize why I couldn't kick the ball into the net for such a longtime that the pillar of the goal gets rusty.

Then, I went into the kitchen to prepare my supper. I took the fruit-juice, the beef, the chook with some tomato sarla, a piece of falafel, and some Portuguese wine. I thought they were enough for a football player who can't do his work well. As before, these delicious meat and the costful Portuguese wine could satisfy my apitite. But that day, I felt these cate wasn't as delicious as before. Was I am too suckful to regale the cate? I didn't know.

I thought no one could understand my dismayed mood. I knew I am a very good forwarder in my bosom, but I can't prove my perspective. I thought this was the most terrible and amazed thing for a player like me.

While I was unutterly regaling the cate, the phone rang.  I answer the phone.

"Hello, you sickful man. This is David Loothe." Said my coach.

"Hi, David. I am fine. And you?"

"Nah, I am amazed and disappointed now. Don't you think you didn't got the qualification to give the time of the day to me as a salutation?"

"Dear coach, I didn't know what you are saying?"

"You rubbish thing, come to the headquarter of our great Newcastle Junior Team right now!"

"Sorry coach, I disappoint you. I'll go there at once."

"Suckful guy, don't you forget the address of the HQ?"

"No, that is impossible."

"It isn't impossible for a rubbish and weak guy like you!"

After put the phone back, I was really afraid of my occupation life!

I went to the HQ with frightence and unease!

What will happen? I asked myself!
